Summer is in full swing, and many of us are sweltering in 100-plus-degree temperatures. Some days, there's nowhere to go to cool down, no place to seek protection from the heat.

Some summer days, there's absolutely nothing we can do to escape summer's blazing wrath. So we turn to cold-weather books.

Books can be our ticket to respite from the heat when you choose the right ones, and these 15 books are a surefire way to cool off in even the hottest temperatures. Little readers up through teenagers will undoubtedly find something cool in this list of freezing cold, icy, snowy wintertime books.
