ELIGIBILITY: Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the USA ages 18 and over who are parents or guardians of children ages 7–13. Subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws. Sweepstakes is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY: To enter the Sweepstakes, go to www.scholastic.com/motherdaughterbookclub and complete the entire form. Submit the form online to enter the Sweepstakes. ONLINE ENTRY IS THE ONLY MEANS OF ENTRY. NO OTHER METHOD OF ENTRY WILL BE ACCEPTED. The Sweepstakes will begin at 12:01 a.m. May 1, 2013 and end at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on May 31, 2013. One entry per person. No copies, facsimiles or reproductions of online entries will be accepted. All entries become the exclusive property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. Sponsor and its parent, subsidiaries, brokers, distributors, dealers, retailers, affiliates, and their respective advertising, promotion and production agencies, (collectively, the “Related Entities”) shall not be liable for (a) telephone, electronic, program, network, Internet, or computer delays, deletions, interruptions or other failures of any kind; or (b) any human error that may occur in the processing of any entry, nor are they responsible for any theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries, whether caused by the sender or any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Sweepstakes. Proof of online submission of the entry form does not constitute proof of delivery.
In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of a person submitting an entry form, the entry will be deemed to be submitted by the Authorized Account Holder of the e-mail address at the time of entry. “Authorized Account Holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned the e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.
PRIZES: One (1) Grand Prize Winner will be selected by Sponsor in a random drawing from all eligible entries on or about June 3. The Grand Prize Winner will participate in a phone chat with Ann M. Martin on a mutually agreed upon date before September 20, 2013. The Grand Prize has an estimated retail value of $200. Grand Prize winner must have their own telephone and is solely liable for his/her own equipment, connection, etc. to participate in the phone chat. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. Winners will be notified by email, postal mail or telephone using the contact information provided to Sponsor. The Grand Prize Winner will be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release within five (5) days of notification attempt or an alternate winner may be selected. Winner may also be asked to attend and participate in media and/or public relations events (the “Media Events”) designated by Sponsor and/or requested by various media outlets. Upon Sponsor’s request, and subject to winner’s availability, the winner agrees to participate in such Media Events without any further compensation. By accepting the prize, winner agrees to release Sponsor and Related Entities, and hold each of them harmless, from any claims relating to their participation or non-participation in any Media Events.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: If the administration or integrity of the Sweepstakes is compromised or corrupted at any time, the Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel the Sweepstakes. Sponsor and Related Entities shall not be liable for any injury or damage to an entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from entering the Sweepstakes. Entrants affirm that they have read and accepted these Official Rules and agree that the decisions of Sponsor related to this Sweepstakes are final. By entering the Sweepstakes, entrants agree to abide by these rules and to release and hold Sponsor and Related Entities harmless from and against any and all damages and claims of any kind in connection with the Sweepstakes or resulting from acceptance, possession or use of any prize. Except where prohibited, winner agrees and consents to the use of his/her name, address, likeness and/or entry by Sponsor in any and all media for any and all lawful purposes, whether advertising, promotion or trade, including without limitation online and in print, in perpetuity without further notice or compensation. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with this Sweepstakes will be ineligible for prizes.
WINNERS' LIST: Winner’s names will be available after the completion of the Sweepstakes. To obtain the name of the Sweepstakes winners, send a request, along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope, after June 1, 2013 to: Scholastic Inc., Mother-Daughter Book Club Skype Sweepstakes (Attn: WS) 557 Broadway, New York, NY 10012. Requests must be received before July 28, 2013.
