Bee business
You may have a job, such as cleaning your room or feeding your dog. Honeybees have jobs too--and their jobs aren't that different from yours.
A whole hive of honeybees works together to make sure they all have a safe
place to live and enough food to eat. Like many kids, honeybees get new
jobs as they grow older. For a while, a honeybee's job is to feed the baby bees in the hive. Then, a little later, its job is to protect the hive. Next, its job is to go out and find nectar. (Nectar is the sweet juice of flowers that bees use to make honey.) When you and I look at a flower, we probably can't tell how much nectar it has inside. But bees have a special kind of vision, called ultraviolet vision. This ultraviolet vision allows them to see which flowers have lots of nectar. That's a good thing because bees need to collect a lot of nectar. Just to make enough honey to survive the winter, honeybees need nectar from about 50 million flowers!

Describe (in seven sentences or less): Different kinds of honey, made from the nectar of different kinds of flowers, can look very different. Most honey comes in shades of gold and brown. But some honey can be clear in color, or sometimes purple-blue! These two strange-colored honeys come from the sourwood tree in North Carolina. Different kinds of honey can also taste very different. Can
you taste the difference in a blind taste test? What does honey made from
orange tree blossoms taste like? What about honey made from apple tree
blossoms? Experiment with different kinds of honey to see which you like best. Do you think that bees have a favorite kind of honey?

Different kinds of honey is probably due to having different kinds of
flowers' nectar. Different plants and trees also have different amounts of
health. This is a factor along with the fact that one honeycomb may have
nectar from more than one flower. The stirring process is also a way they
could make a difference. If they stir it a little, it may not be as hard.

I think Red Clover Honey is sweeter. The second best use I have found for Honey is in my cough
drops with Lemon. It helps my cough stop and my throat feel better. The best use for Honey is in
a spoon after I have to take medicine to make the taste go away. A spoon full of Honey will also
cure the hiccups.

My Grandparents, Nana and AJ, have bee hives on their farm. I see lots of bees
going out to the flowers to get nectar. The honey that their bees make is kind
of a dark gold color and it tastes very sweet. We bought some orange blossom
honey at the store and it tasted like oranges! I'll bet that honey from apple
blossom flowers tastes like apples. I like all of the Magic School Bus stories
and I think Ms Frizzle is cool.

I had fun learning about bees and their honey. I learned that the
reason there are different types of honey is because the bees collect
the nectar from different flowers. The flavour from the honey comes
from the perfume of the flower. There are different types of flowers
that bees can collect nectar from. There are the lavender and thyme

I learned that Honey can be thick,granulated or clear and its
different flavours come from the perfume of the flower where the nectar
has been gathered. Nectar gathered from the apple blossom will have a
different taste from nectar gathered from a orange blossom.. Some of
the honey flavours are lavender, thyme or rosemary honey and flower
honey and mountain honey

Yes, I think some bees have a favorite kind of honey. some may
like all kinds of honey the same but I still think most bees have a favorite
kind of honey. some bees are more active than others, so some bees have only
tasted one or two kinds of honey. the more active bees have tasted more
different kinds of honey. the ones that stay in the hive more often don't go
as far away from the hive to taste very many kinds of honey. So yes I think
90%of bees have a favorite kind of honey.
