Come visit a land rich in history, tradition, and culture — explore Asia, the largest and most populated continent in the world. Comprised of many diverse countries, you'll find many surprising facts on your journey. For instance, did you know that there are 35 languages spoken in India alone?

As the birthplace of some of the world's earliest civilizations, Asian art extends back many thousands of years. Historic treasures include everything from ancient pottery to calligraphy scrolls.

Traditional Chinese gardens show how cultures blend art and nature. The gardens evolved from simple plantings to elaborate displays of wealth that incorporated symbolic meanings, such as the spiritual properties of mountains and water.

India, the second most populated country after China, traces its history from ancient cave art through colonialism to the India of today, which boasts growing focus on technology. The country's most influential modern leader was Gandhi, who spearheaded India’s nonviolent struggle for independence.

With a significantly different culture and history, Japan is a chain of four islands that make up an archipelago. Japanese language and food may seem much different than American kids are used to. But kids around the world often look to Japanese peers for the latest cool trends.

For a completely different view of life in on this continent, visit Vietnam. Located in Southeast Asia, Vietnam still maintains many of its centuries-old traditions, including the roles for children and the elderly that may surprise you.

Many Asians have made their way to the United States. Through the years, Asian Americans have shared their heritage and culture, and they continue to influence our own nation today.
