HOW TO ENTER
Step 1: Teacher Advisors: Visit www.scholastic.com/lexus to register your team at any time during the challenge. You will receive an administrative UserID and password via e-mail to use during the application process. Save the email for future reference.

Step 2: Student Teams: Go to www.scholastic.com/lexus and review the questions that you will need to answer in order to complete your Action Plan PowerPoint. Completing this easy online form is required for all teams and will help you discuss the details and results of your Action Plan.

Step 3: Teams: Start by choosing one of the following topics and identify a specific environmental issue within this topic that affects your local community:

LAND/WATER

• Landfills, Waste Management, and Recycling
• Forest Destruction/Deforestation or Desertification
• Endangered Species and Loss of Biodiversity
• Water Conservation and Fresh Water Shortages
• Shrinking Wetlands and Aquatic Habitats
• Threats to the World's Waterways and Oceans (e.g. poorly managed fishing, pollution, coastal tourism and development, and shipping)

Work with your Teacher Advisor to begin the Eco Challenge, and implement your project.

Remember: Completing your Action Plan PPT means that you have not only brainstormed your ideas but also implemented the plan as well.

Step 4: Teacher Advisors: Review your team's Action Plan PPT and Project Gallery. Give your team feedback.

Step 5: Teacher Advisors: Using the administrative UserID and password you received when you registered, log in at www.scholastic.com/lexus. Submit your team's final Action Plan PPT online. (Please note: no entries will be accepted in the mail.)

Note to Teacher: In the event of multiple submissions, the most recent files will be used.
