During the Dustbowl

By: Bailie T
Georgia, Grade: 5

Today,
I woke up and was not feeling very well. I still had to do my job like any other day. I have to feed the chickens, cows, and horses .We are running very low on water. I just gatherd 12 eggs from the 30 chickens we have. I also gatherd three dead chickens. One of our horses died and luckily none of our cows died. My mom is in the bed, and my dad is watching her. She`s not doing very well. We think she has lung cancer. Every thing is going wrong today. When I woke up I went to go wake up my sister and and she was not alive, we`re guessing she had slept with too much dust getting in her mouth. It is dinner time now we`re only having 2 eggs and a half a cup of milk. I`m not very hungry, my stomach is feeling worse and worse. My mom told me to go lay down. I`m going to go to bed now .......yyyyyaaaaawwwwnnnn.
