Dear Journal,
Life here in California is hard. Mother, father and my dear sister, Melina, are struggling to keep the farm up. Father says it is useless to try because no one can afford to buy anything from us. I try to help. I help by selling cookies but its hard to go outside. Its very dusty. We are in a Dust Bowl state Mother says.
