Dear Journal,
It's me again, Jessica. Today the Great Depression struck Father like a freight train! He was almost as mad as a lightning bolt when his boss did it. How can such a great father bacome a failure? Why, I'll tell you why. Because of the awful Great Depression! Now mother has to save every last seed we grow and every last crumb we eat. We have strict diets now, and if mother and father keep getting worse, maybe even no breakfast or dinner!
