Hi my name is Mr. Johnson, but most people just call me Frankie. I lived in the time of the great depression. Were did I live you ask? I lived in the Dust Bowl. The weather was pretty harsh and unforgiving. I remember it like if it were yesterday. my family had to move to California to get away from this disaster, but they left me behind with my grandma. my grandma died short after, and I decided to move to California myself. when I got there I saw many immigrants, and I thought I had it bad. you should've seen these people. I then decided to get a job. the only open jobs left were as farmers, but there was a lot of people with their eye on this job. I figured since I was American I would get it, and I did. they also gave me the job because I was young. I was able to survive off the little pay I got, but it still was hardly anything. I never did find my folks. I wish I knew what happen to them.
