Dear Depression,
I have decided to name you depression, because the Great Depression has officially begun. My parents had a rising stock in the market, we were a successful family. Suddenly the market crashed, and we lost almost every cent we had. We live in Illinois now, but we are moving to Calfornia, because my parents say it's better there. I already have my trunk packed with 3 outfits, also my pajamas, hairbrush, and my doll, Julianna. My mother gave me this diary to me just while I was packing. I must leave now-the train is leaving in 2 hours.
