This Great Depression is tearing our lives apart. My dad still can't find work, he travelled all the way to Virginia from Philidelphia just to see if he could get a job, no luck, When he got back he felt like he'd let the whole family down, even more since Johnny died, Mom reccons it was malnutririon, I'm not really sure why there is this Depression anyway, Dad told me it was complicated it was about the stock market, today I hit lucky, I went to visit Bea and on the way back I found a 5 dollar bill, it was like it was put there for me to pick up, When i showed my family we were all celebrating, i felt so proud and so thankful that someone dropped that note, but I couldn't help think about the person who dropped it, maybe that was their only money like us, so when i went to get the bread i very casually dropped that extra 50 cents on the sidewalk for someone to pick up. It was the happiest my family had been in a long while, and it was all because of me, I had let some sunshine to shine on the family for once, I suppose I am lucky because even though with the Depression and all, it has made our family stronger and has made us realise we are lucky for each other.
