Ever scince the great depression i have found that life is hard and tough. My only escape besides hiding is to write in my journal. That was a few days ago i arrived at the camp earlier today. Papa says i will have to work the feilds. iam still mourning over grandmothers death. Mama says to be strong but i cant any loger. Working in this camp is the hardest thing i have ever had to do. Even worse my baby sister has caught an illness the docter says that its valley fever. She might not live for she is only a baby. i dont know what to do i have lost my faith, my trust in other people, my hope, lastly i am afraid that i have let go of myself for the once happy alicia is no more. I miss my old life back in mexico i miss a lot of things but most of all i miss myself.......
