I can't go to school anymore, Mama needs me at home to help with chores, Papa is deadly ill and out of a job so we have very little of anything. We are so hungry and so cold my bones are shivering. Mama said to leave Papa be and help cook the little dinner that we have. We each ate a chunk of bread and a glass of water. And went to bed hungry. The room seems colder tonight. And we try to huddle together on the floor. Diary, I am scared, and not quite sure what will become of me.
