Dear Diary,Sometimes I wonder whether i'm going to get through this alive.Gee golly, that word gives me hope.Alive.Safe.Right now,all seems lost.It is the worst year of the depression, they say.1932.Now,I am starting to think they a true.My friend,Lucy, reads awful scary books by that horrible man Edgar Allen Poe.I like to read things that give me hope, and I also like writing poems about this depression, and I like to listen to songs by Woody Guthrie.I like to learn about the depression,so I can find out how to end it,like Abraham Lincoln ended slavery. He abolished it.I'm going to abolish this depression.I'm going to give people hope.
