The Great Depression

By: Mikayla O
California, Grade: 6

The Great Depression is really hard for my family these days. My moms minimum wage went down a bucketfull. My mother is as sad as a banana with no skin. My life is really hard right now and even Papa is down in the Gulf. His job went out of business. My big brother even got a part time job as a paper boy to help our family in profits. When my sister, brother and I went out in the front yard to play soccer, the streets were filled with people in poverty. My family was just a speck in the whole wide world. How could that speck help this country?
