Dear Poppi,
Today at school there was a new girl with shiny blue eyes and blonde hair. I was very excited to be friends with her. I sat with her at lunch and played with her at recess. Then Miss Kelly told her to come in before recess ended. So I was left alone. Soon I heard Jimmy telling Christopher that he hated Felice, the new girl. Christopher was saying he agreed because Felice was British.I got very mad and ran up to Jimmy and yelled at him because he was not being fair. Miss Kelly told me to come in after that and I learned what happened to Felice. A solder from town hall had come to take Felice away to meet her parents in Maryland. She was going to be taken back to her country by the british ship that brought her to America. Oh Poppi, I can't even send her letters! I now know why Jimmy was being mean... because his father was the solder who took Felice. I really hate Jimmmy... because of his father I lost my only friend other than Alice.
