I have come out of the Toiling Room. I have been out for a long time. I have had no time to write since I came back. We have been working and mourning. While I was gone, Mariposa ran away. The police found her body in the river. She died of typhus. I have sewn and mended clothes all day. I wish Mama and Papi were here.
