The Great Derpression

By: Suzanna V
California, Grade: 6

Dear Dairy
Well it's been
three days already in the great depression,it's very lonely and sad. Nobody has a job and everyones begging for money. There has been so many dust storms and it's very difficult to breathe, and it hasn't rained in a long period of time. So everyone started heading to West of California. Even before the dust storms a lot of families were heading to California to live and at least 75% were Mexican. There were so many new migrants that they paid less to people so more people can have jobs. But that still wouldn't be enough there were still people without jobs. Sometimes the migrant families worked and still couldn't be maintained. People would even have to build tents in ditchbanks. Mexicans and Mexican-Americas started protesting about how much money they got paid. Then Mexican and Mexican-American were the target of being discriminated. It got so bad that they started to send Mexican and Mexican-American people back to Mexico. People were blaming President Hoover and they thought that President Roosevelt. President Roosevelt made a program named The New Deal. It pulled America out of the Great Depression. It wasn't all healed until World War two. In the late 1920's America was doing great the business was booming once again.
Sincerely,
Suzanna
