I feel like the girls in books having to sacrifice so much I just wish I didn't have to wear my older brother's pants and shoes I miss my pretty lacey dresses At least my typewriter still works or else I would have no purpose except chores We have no money to spare for new clothes so we stick to what the family has. Mother gives me her old dresses but says to save them for special occasions I sold my books and even my doll to help get money I even gave up dance lessons the depression is awful
