Life in the great depression

By: Hilda O
Illinois, Grade: 8

As I read the story if I were to live in the great depression I wouldn't be able to survive at all. Life was really stressful back then. There were a lot of diseases because of the dust bowl and since there is no work there is no food. There were a lot of people and little work and my parents would get really desperate and it has been really stressful for me. The work was worthless because the landowners paid them a little bit of money. Strikes wouldn't work at all. My family would be suffering because since we are a big family we wouldn't be able to fit in a small house. That's how I think my life would be if I were to live in the great depression.
