Today pa lost his job. Ma said that now we have to cut back on some things like our weekly shopping downtown. I wonder how this will affect our lives. Billy from down the street has moved now that his pa lost his job in the plant... could this happen to my family? Ma says I will have to go to a new school though! I have to go to the school house rather than the all girls school I do now. I will miss Sally May she and I are so close. My heart is smart.
