Dear Diary,
It's October 1930.Times are tough and our family can barely afford our house and food.My mommy is unemployed and my daddy is barley holding on.My two 16 year old brothers left home so that my parents would have less mouths to feed.President Herbert Hoover never does anything! All he does is watch everyone panic.Hes acting like WE need to solve it.Our family just moved into a larger home than what we had for our 11 person family.It has 2 rooms.One for sleeping and talking and playing with my brothers and sisters and the other is the kitchen. I know its not much, but it more than others have.Its hard living with 10 other people in a small house.Well I have to go help mom set the table for dinner. Write later!
