We lost everything. When the stock market crashed, Poppa went to the bank to get our money, but they didn’t have any. That was the first thing that we lost—our money. Then Poppa lost his job. We ran out of food. Pretty soon after that, we lost our house. I lost all of my toys. We’re all losing weight and health. Momma lost her new baby boy, and we almost lost her. The one thing that this depression cannot take away from us is our hope. God is still with us, and He will help us through these hard times. Momma said that maybe He is testing our faith. I pray to Him every night and ask for help. I hope that this will end soon.
