Times are very hard now. Uncle Jim has just lost his job, so he is coming to live with us. Papa said the stock market crashed and that a lot of people are losing billions of dollars. Many people have lost their jobs, and it is really hard for my brother to find a job. Not many places are hiring right now, many are actually firing employees. I am so happy Papa is a farmer; hopefully it won’t be so hard on us. It is really sad when I take walks in the park sometimes. I see many children and adults sleeping on benches and on the ground. People are starving and there is not very much I can do. There have been many droughts in the Southern Great Plains. There are strong winds making dust storms across the country. I pray things get better soon.
