My mother never ceases crying, daddy has to work twice as hard for half or less his normal pay. Instead of going to school I stay home and help knit clothing with mother. My youngest sisters used to pick apples to sell, but now all the trees have died due to drought, and many of our cash crops have wilted as well. Many of my friends homes have been destroyed by government workers. They don't even stop and tell us why they destroy our hand-built houses, which we have worked very hard to build and maintain. President Roosevelt always talks about how the economy is better, but my family and I can never tell.
