Why did I hope the Great Depression will end soon? It might, but it seems like forever. We're hungry all the time. How come I've never been so hungry my whole life? Is this all President Hoover's fault?
Well, I need to go now. It's my turn to help Mama prepare what we have to eat.
P.S. I just smelled bread stuffed with chicken. It's tasteless because the chicken has no salt, but it's better than having nothing for supper.
