Nothing Could Be Worse

By: Mollie S
California, Grade: 6

Nothing could be worse than coming to work on a farm with already too many workers.Dad and Mom are working as hard as they can while I have to take care of one 4-year-old brother and twin babies and cook and clean for our little shack.Actually it's not even a shack but a few cardboard boxes and a piece of old canvas. With no water or bathrooms things are starting to get really smelly and people are dying from our water being polluted and not enough food.I wish we'd never left Mexico.Dad says we'll have a better life and Mom says to keep on wishing and hoping.Nothing could be worse.
