Pulling Through

By: Taylor O
Minnesota, Grade: 6

I have got to do it. I HAVE to do it! I M-U-S-T! Spin, spin. Then a familiar scream broke the steady spinning of the manual yarn-making machines. Again, the young, poor girl,Lizzy, had gotten her hair stuck in the wheel again. I dared not go over there to help her as master calmly, with a smoldering rage glinting in his eyes, evily snipped off the girls' hair. I felt bad for her. I knew she had to feed six mouths; I only had two. At only one penny a day, it was hardly enough. My own family could barely get by. Oh, please, someone HELP!
