Today Jeremy came home with a package of meat.He told mama that Mr. Franin the deli owner gave it to him free of charge.Mama got a little mad considering that we haven't got money to pay him back. She told Jeremy that we shouldn't take donations even if they are free of charge because she wanted papa to feel like he could take care of us all without help. When papa came home today he put baby Sarah on his lap and had me Jeremy and Annah sit around while he told stories to us. When we finally had o go to bed i heard papa whisper to mama that he had lost his job. I heard mama cry for a while and then she came into my room and held me a while, while we both cried softly. Maybe things will get better and papa won't have to entertain us to help us forget our hunger. Maybe things will get better, just maybe.
