Father has been out of work for five days, and our family is very worried. What will become of us? I cannot think. Mother is being extra careful when she is home. Father seems very depressed but tries to find a new job. Will told Dad he is helping by getting a job and he can't stop him. What I can't understand is how Dad is so agreeable with the topic now. School is becoming emptier and quieter. Many children had to leave because they couldn't afford it. I am glad my best friend, Mary is still able to go with me. In these cold January days it would be awful lonely to walk all alone to the school.
