April 7, 1935

Father went in search for work again, hoping to fight the Depression. He came back with that sorrowful look on his face, the look he has mainly had on these past 6 months.
Anna, with that 4 year old head of hers, decided to do a jig to cheer us up, but ended up breaking Mother's priceless vase. Anna was terrible to be so clumsy, but the jig she did put a smile in all of our faces. A smile that showed hope, courage, and happiness.
