When Clarrissa Harlowe Barton was born on December 25thh 1821 in North Oxfordm, Massaschusetts. She had 2 brothers and 2 sisters. her sisters taught her to sew ,wash, and cook. Her youngest brother taught her school things. Her Mom, Sarah said she was a perfect gift. Her Father Was a captain and taught her geomatry. But the thing that helped her the most in her later life was when her older brother,David taught her how to nurse sick animals bake to health. Clara was a very shy girl so when she was eight her parents enrolled her in a boading school in hope that it would help her, but things got worse and worse so her parents quickly pulled her out. But when her brother fell of a barn roof he was expected to die but Clara stood by his side for 3 years and nursed him back to health.
