ED in ‘08 Scholarship Sweepstakes Official Rules

NO PURCHASE OR CONTRIBUTION NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.

1. Entry. To enter online go to www.EDin08.com/Scholarship, or print your name, address, daytime phone number and e-mail address, on a postcard or piece of paper and send to: Strong American Schools, c/o Scholarship Sweepstakes, 1150 17th Street, NW, 8th Floor, Washington, DC 20036. Sweepstakes begins October 29, 2007, 12:01 a.m. EST and all entries must be received or postmarked by December 31, 2007, 11:59 p.m. EST. Entries to the Sweepstakes are subject to Strong American School‘s privacy policy. Only one entry per eligible person will be accepted.

2. Eligibility. Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the United States who are currently at least the age of 18. Employees (and members of their families) of Strong American Schools (a project of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, Inc.), Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, Inc., and Scholastic Inc., their respective sponsors, parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates, and their respective advertising, promotion, and production agencies are not eligible to enter or win. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.

3. Winners. One Grand Prize, One Second Place, and One Third Place winner will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries on or about February 1, 2008 by Strong American Schools whose decision on all matters relating to this Sweepstakes shall be final. Winners will be notified by phone on or about February 4, 2008. Odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible entries received. The Grand Prize Winner will receive one $25,000 scholarship, the Second Place Winner will receive one $15,000 scholarship, the Third Place Winner will receive one $10,000 scholarship. Ten Fourth Place Winners will each receive a selection of Scholastic books (ARV $100). Prizes are non-transferable and non-assignable, and no cash alternative will be offered.

4. General. Subject to all applicable laws: All entries will become the property of Strong American Schools and will not be returned. By entering, entrants agree to abide by these rules, warrant and represent that their entry information is accurate, and grant to Strong American Schools the right to use the winner‘s name, information provided and likeness for purposes of advertising and/or promotion. Winners will be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release within ten (10) business days of notification attempt or an alternate winner may be selected. By accepting a prize, winner and family members also agree to release Strong American Schools, Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, Inc., and Scholastic Inc., their respective parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates, and their respective advertising, promotion, or production agencies from any and all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries that may be sustained in connection with the receipt or use of the prize and participation in this Sweepstakes. Taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners.

5. Liability and Rights. Strong American Schools, Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, Inc., and Scholastic Inc. disclaim responsibility for lost, late, or misdirected entries and for entries that are corrupted or otherwise not received correctly or for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of email, or on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Website or combination thereof, including injury or damage to participant‘s or to any other person‘s computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading materials in this Sweepstakes. Strong American Schools, Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, Inc., and Scholastic Inc. reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend this Sweepstakes in the event that the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned for any reason, including but not limited to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond its control that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes.

6. Winners‘ List. The names of all winners will be available after February 14, 2008.
