Grading Reports

READ 180 students need to be given the time to learn the essential skills they have not previously mastered. At the same time, all students must master skills in order to meet state standards and pass assessments. Although students may need to start out working below grade level to master skills they missed in the past, at the same time they must be given the tools needed to meet grade-level requirements.

Of course, it is important for you to communicate positive feedback about your students' progress—even for those not yet on grade level. However, report card assessments must give a realistic picture of how a student is measuring up to grade-level expectations.
