Dear Little Book,
I think it odd that Salem means "city of peace" for in fact it is far from peaceful here.Thank God that you do not have to be a part of this witch madness. It seems Salem Town falls deeper and deeper into the Devil's grasp. Old Myr is dead. They hung her by the old poplar tree in the outskirts of town. And what is worse is that more and more people are starting to believe Martha. Her outbursts become worse. She says harsh things to her parents. She screams out in the middle of the night. If one did not know any better, one would truly think she is cursed by witches.

She is beginning to influence others as well. First Elizabeth Potter, now Little Anne Shelton, the carpenter's niece, who took a branding iron and burnt a hole right into the Bible, then threw chairs out the window. My dear peaceful Salem is becoming a nightmare. Dear God, save us from this madness.
