What are Digital Downloads?
A Digital Download is a copy of an entire CD-ROM game, which you save
onto your computer's hard drive.
How long will the trial version of a game last?
One-time trials will expire after one hour. Trials are available only
once per person, per title. After your trial, however, you do have
the option to buy the unlimited version at a special discount.
How do I upgrade from trial to a buying the full version?
Launch the game that you wish to buy (even if your trial has expired).
Then click the "Buy It" button to upgrade.
Will I be shipped a CD-ROM?
No. A physical CD is not needed when you download a digital game.
The game lives right on your hard drive and is available to you anytime.
Is the digital different than the CD-ROM game?
No. The game will run just like it does whey you play it from a physical
CD-ROM. The only difference is that you don't need to load a disk
so there are no shipping charges with your order, no sales tax, no
wait for delivery, and no disk that could get lost or damaged!
Will I need to be online to play?
No. Once the game is installed you do not need to be connected to
the Internet to play. However, if you wish to buy the game for unlimited
play, you will need to be online to order the upgrade version.
How long does it take to download a game?
The download times vary from to game to game and depend on the speed
of your Internet connection. Check the individual product pages for
estimated download times.
How do I start playing a downloaded game?
You must first install the game. After downloading the file, locate
the file and double click on it. Follow the onscreen instructions
to install the game. To start a new game, click the Windows "Start"
button in the lower left corner, click "Programs," and click the title
of the game you want to launch and start playing.
Can I copy the game onto another computer?
Only if you purchase a game can you copy the game to another machine.
Your purchase will include five license renewals. Each renewal allows
you to either install the game on a different machine or re-install
the game on the original machine (in case the files become damaged
or accidentally are erased.) To renew your license, install and start
the game. Then follow the "Renew License" instructions. In the case
of multiple machines, each computer must belong to the licensee, and
you cannot run the game more than one machine at the same time.
