The candidates haven't discussed military draft and education reform, two subjects important to young people. Why haven't reporters pressed candidates more on these issues?

It would be a great idea to have a debate, instead of Tim Russert and me, with the two of you. Or even a whole panel of Scholastic reporters because these issues aren't just important to you, they're important to a lot of people. We started off on health care and got stuck on that issue, it's an important issue but we spent 17 minutes which I hadn't planned to spend on it. Sometimes the conversations in an election year take on a life of their own.
