DIRECTIONS
1. Hang the Classroom Poster in an easy-to-see location. Have students study the poster to identify which famous fairy-tale characters are practicing fire safety. Find the Poster Answer Key at: scholastic.com/firesafety

2. Instruct each student to choose two fairy tales represented in the poster (Examples: Cinderella, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Rapunzel, Three Little Pigs, Red Riding Hood, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, etc.). Have students read these fairy tales either in books or from stories printed from the Internet.

3. Distribute copies of Student Worksheet 1. Show students how to use the Venn diagram to compare and contrast the two fairy tales they chose. Tell students to keep these sheets because they will need them for the next lesson.
