From Campaign 2010: LESSON 3: MY SMOKE ALARM BOOK
Each student in the class can assemble, illustrate, and color a mini-book about fire safety.
To build skills in sequencing and fire safety procedures
1. Have children call out what they know about smoke alarms.
2. Distribute copies of My Smoke Alarm Book . Help children cut along the dotted line and fold the paper to make mini-books.
3. Have children write their names and draw self-portraits on the front cover. Read pages 2 and 3 aloud. Have children color the pictures. Read page 4 aloud. Have children draw their families at their Outside Meeting Place.
4. Distribute the Family Newsletter and the Bonus Family Worksheet K-2 to continue student learning at home.
