OBJECTIVE
Students will make finger puppets based on characters from their favorite story or a story you’re reading together as a class.
MATERIALS
Fiskars scissors; felt; paper; yarn; and other decorating materials, such as beads, glitter, and googly eyes
REPRODUCIBLES
Finger Puppet Reproducible
SET UP AND PREPARE

DIRECTIONS
1. Using the Finger Puppet Reproducible, have students cut and glue together two pieces of felt to make the puppet’s body.

3. To finish the lesson, have students select a passage from their chosen book. It should be a scene with dialogue that involves both characters they have made. Encourage students to practice their scenes, and once ready, put on mini puppet shows for the class.
