    A Silly Snowy Day

    A Silly Snowy Day

by Michael Coleman and Gwyneth Williamson

Funny winter read-aloud about a tortoise who would rather play than sleep through the winter!

Hibernating is no fun; this little tortoise would rather go out and play! Mr. and Mrs. Tortoise snuggle up for their winter nap, but Shelley doesn't feel at all sleepy. As soon as her parents begin to snore, Shelley sneaks out to see what winter is like. The duck, the dog, and the other animals think the idea of a turtle wandering around in the snow is ridiculous, but Shelley continues. As Shelley starts to realize that tortoises might not be suited to winter weather, she hits a patch of ice and slides downhill on her shell. Will this sweet, curious tortoise finally figure out where she belongs?
