The Adventures of the Bailey School Kids #27: Bogeymen Don't Play Football

The Adventures of the Bailey School Kids #27: Bogeymen Don't Play Football

by Debbie Dadey, Marcia Thornton Jones and John Steven Gurney

When Mr. Bogey comes to Mrs. Jeeper's class, Howie and his friends are not sure what to think of the very big man. The new teacher explains that he is a football player on the Bailey City team, but he needed a day job. Mr. Bogey is very strict and wants the kids to finish all their homework. He tells them that they better get their work done or "I'm going to get you." Though Mr. Bogey is a star on the football field, Howie thinks that he might be the notorious Bogeyman who likes to scare children. The four friends, spying on the man to prove his true identity, sneak into the locker room of Bailey City Stadium. The locker room is creepy and the kids are saved by the head coach who tells them the locker room is no place for kids. Howie is sure that is because everyone knows the bogeyman is out to get kids. Returning to the game, the kids watch Mr. Bogey lead the team to victory. Now that he is on the road to make a professional team, Mr. Bogey does not have time to teach in Mrs. Jeepers' class. Was he really the bogeyman? The kids are not too sure!
