Election 2012: The Road to the Conventions

The race is on! The showdown between President Barack Obama and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is set, and both candidates prepared for their party's convention by campaigning and sharpening their attacks. Just days after learning Romney had secured the Republican nomination, Obama made numerous campaign stops across the country, including Pennsylvania, Oregon, and Ohio, while Romney visited Michigan with the support of Senator John McCain. Romney also announced that Congressman Paul Ryan would join him on the Republican ticket as his running mate.
