LIVESTRONG Holiday Helpers

Welcome to LIVESTRONG Holiday Helpers, an extension of the award-winning LIVESTRONG at School program. Before your students scurry out the door for winter break, talk with them about using this holiday time to make a difference in their community. LIVESTRONG helps to improve the lives of those living with cancer. With this positive focus in mind -- as well as a touch of the holiday spirit -- encourage your students to lend a hand in their own neighborhood.

The contributions that your students make as Holiday Helpers during the holiday season don't have to be limited to things that tie directly into LIVESTRONG's mission of inspiring and empowering people affected by cancer. Visiting a soup kitchen with a parent or helping an elderly neighbor with chores are simple things that will have a huge impact. But if your class's generosity is put toward making a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer, those acts are certainly encouraged as well. Use the following resources to assist your students in getting started in their endeavors. Happy and healthy holidays from LIVESTRONG and Scholastic!
