Understanding Global Warming
Knut: How One Little Polar Bear Captivated the World, by Craig Hatkoff and his daughters Juliana and Isabella, is the inspiring true story about a polar bear born in the Berlin Zoo. His mother was unable to care for him, so Thomas Dorflein, a zookeeper, became Knut’s foster father.
Almost overnight Knut became the face of global warming and emerged as a symbol for a greener world as scientists have issued warnings that the polar bear will soon be extinct if radical measures are not taken.
