Social Studies Lessons and Printables (Grades 3-8)

The lesson plans and printables below will give students the background information they need to create an action plan to raise awareness of the problems facing the endangered mountain gorillas.

As a class, watch video highlights from the Kids Gorilla Summit webcast that aired on September 26, 2008. Students can learn from environmental experts, guest speakers, and other students as they discuss how they are actively working to make a difference with both the humanitarian and mountain gorilla crises in Africa.

Learn about other remarkable true stories about animals who have overcome adversity.

And don't forget to watch the Winter's Tail LIVE Webcast on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 from 1:00 P.M. (ET) to 1:45 P.M. (ET).
