Winning Back-to-School Activities
Start off the school year right! We are now featuring new interactive lesson activities for getting back in the groove, just in time for the back-to-school season. Scholastic Professional Media has teamed with SMART Technologies to design these get-to-know-you lesson activities specifically for use on a SMART Board\'99 interactive whiteboard.
These lessons are cross-curricular and cover a variety of topics of introduction, including:
- Setting Goals
- Establishing Classroom Rules
- Learning Names and Qualities of Classmates
- Reviewing Science Lab Safety
This lesson, for grades 4 to 6, allows students to prioritize as well as listen to three animated students with very different views on how a classroom should be run!

Students are introduced to the dangers lurking in the science lab and how to conduct themselves safely. Designed for grades 7 to 9, the lesson includes matching games to highlight hazardous, toxic and flammable substances.
