Campaign '08: Prevent Home Fires
Grade K-2 Lessons on Fire Safety
It is an election year and Sparky the Fire Dog® is on a campaign. But Sparky is not running for office. Instead, his campaign is to help students and their families across the nation learn to Prevent Home Fires. Sparky needs help from teachers to help make his campaign successful. During Fire Prevention Week (October 5-11) and throughout the year, use these lessons and activities to help bring fire-safety awareness to your class, your school, and your community. Together, we can prevent home fires.
From Campaign 2008, Lesson 2: Draw A Fire-Safety Picture
Have students draw fire-safety pictures to show what they learned about fire hazards. Share your students' artwork with use for a chance to be featured on this site.
From Campaign 2009, Practice Fire Safety All Year Long
A well-practiced home fire-escape plan is essential to providing guidance for every family in the event of fire. These related resources will keep fire safety in your students minds all year.
