Kit Kittredge: An American Girl
The movie Kit Kittredge: An American Girl takes you back in time to the Great Depression. Life was very hard and challenging for people and their families in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1934—even for Kit's! Kit's dad loses his car dealership and he goes to Chicago to look for work. But while he is gone, Kit and her mom struggle with paying for the house. They get chickens and sell the eggs, grow crops and also take in a bunch of quirky borders. Kit meets two hobos, Will and Contee, who become part of the Kittredge family. Kit desires nothing more to have her articles go in the local newspaper. Kit has to turn on her reporter instincts to help Will when he is accused of stealing the Kittredge's money and savings. How will Kit and her family save Will and their house before the bank takes it away?
Kit Kittredge is a great movie for kids! It's fun and entertaining, and it is a good way for kids to learn about the challenges of the Great Depression. And Kit is a role model for kids everywhere. No matter how difficult things get, she always looks on the bright side and stays positive!
