Ghostville Elementary #16: Red, White, and Boo! (EBK)

by Debbie Dadey and Marcia Thornton Jones

Easy to read, with lots of pencil-sketch illustrations, this early chapter book playfully looks at life inside a haunted school.

It's never just learning as usual at Sleepy Hollow Elementary School. That's because there are ghosts living in the basement, and they get their kicks by interrupting classes whenever they can. And to make matter worse, Nina, Cassidy, and Jeff are the only kids at Sleepy Hollow who can actually see the ghosts.

Now there's even more trouble. School elections are about to be held. It's Cassidy vs. Andrew for class president. But when classroom ghosts Ozzy and Edgar decide to throw their hats into the ring, it's campaign chaos all around!

Short chapters and friendly frights make this book the ideal choice for younger kids who are looking to add some excitement to their reading.

by Debbie Dadey and Marcia Thornton Jones and Guy Francis

The paranormal pranksters of Sleepy Hollow Elementary are ready for their close-up! When a Hollywood big shot arrives at school to shoot a creepy movie in the haunted basement, supernatural hijinks are sure to follow. Only a small group of students can see the ghosts that haunt the halls, and they know that these excitable spirits are ready to crash the party.

Film fan Jeff auditions for a starring role, but he's not the only one who wants in on the fun. A ghost named Becky and her friends want to be in the movie too! As Jeff lets the bright lights go to his head, his friend Cassidy can see that the gaggle of ghouls is beginning to misbehave. If they aren't allowed to take part in this exciting production, nobody will!

Can Cassidy and friends find a way to get their paranormal pals to show up on screen, or will these scene-stealers spook the director and ruin the movie? Fast-paced and full of delightful frights, this creepy adventure is a ghoulish gem.

About This Book

Hollywood is coming to Sleepy Hollow! A big-time director wants to film a movie about ghosts in the third-graders' basement classroom. Jeff can't wait to see how a real scary movie is made.
